This lecture is from the bonsai school “Bonsai Journey.” We explain how to regenerate a damaged, over-100-year-old collected Japanese Black Pine using grafting techniques. We focus on a demonstration of grafting a new bud onto a sparse primary branch area lacking inner foliage, and we detail the entire process from scion preparation, insertion, and securing to aftercare protection.
